NOHS batters blank Escalante, 3-0; Murcia, BCNHS win in age-group

The Negros Occidental High School (NOHS) batters controlled the 7th inning game to become victorious against Escalante City, 3-0, in the Open-Seniors’ category during the opening games of the 2022 Abanse Negrense Softball Tournament in Blumentritt, Murcia on Sunday, November 6. In the age-group, Bacolod City National High School (BCNHS)overpowered NOHS with a score of 2-0 in the Juniors’; while Blumentritt Elementary School-Murcia defeated the Education and Training Center School(ETCS)-1 with a score of 10-6 in the Majors’. PSO Head Anthony Carlo Agustin graced the opening ceremony, along with Murcia Vice Mayor Johnny P. Reosura, Blumentritt Chairman Ronald Olvido, and other officials and barangay captains of Murcia. Moreover, softball player Arnel Martinez led the Oath of Sportsmanship while teacher Sheema Mae Pameroyan led the Oath of Officials.
Principal VI Mr. Rodito Badian was the designated Master of the Ceremony. Meanwhile, Mr. Agustin spoke on behalf of Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, who spearheaded the Abanse Negrense grassroots sports development programs. Gov. Bong Lacson is committed to promote and develop continuing training programs in softball to prepare and equip the players for international competitions. The softball sporting event will continue its competitions this weekend, Nov.12-13 in Blumentritt, Murcia.* (with reports from PSO)
